Tanger Outlets Deer Park will open a 46,189-square-foot Main Event entertainment center with bowling and laser tag in early 2026, the chain’s first New York site, according to project details shared on YouTube and LongIsland.com.

The timing lines up with retail-sector forecasts for 2026 that project continued demand for experiential and digitally enhanced formats despite uneven global growth signals. Local leasing data show availability at just 4.4 percent, a figure cited in the National Retail Federation’s 2026 trends report as evidence of sustained performance at well-positioned centers.

Store expansions already under way

Nike plans to move into a 26,065-square-foot space at the same property in spring 2026, replacing its current location with a larger, tech-forward store, Newsday reported in December 2025. Toys R Us opened its first standalone outlet since 2018 at Tanger Deer Park in November 2024 and drew strong local traffic on its return to Long Island.

Four additional brands-Birkenstock, Marc Jacobs, Pandora and Canada Weather Gear-are scheduled to open during 2025 and 2026, further filling the center’s roster. These additions follow the same pattern of selective expansion that the National Retail Federation linked to centers with low vacancy and proven foot traffic.

Separate project in Idaho draws no local overlap

A Grocery Outlet Bargain Market under construction at 507 W. Crawford Avenue in Deer Park, Idaho, is set for fall 2026, according to LinkedIn project posts and local construction notices. That site lies more than 2,000 miles from the New York location and has no operational connection to Tanger Outlets Deer Park.

Shoppers at the Long Island outlet can track opening dates through the center’s website and Newsday coverage as each new tenant completes fit-out. The 4.4 percent availability rate suggests limited near-term space for additional retailers, so visitors should plan around the confirmed Main Event and Nike timelines already announced.
