Free Adult Mental Health Support at Carrington Road
The Box Hill Head to Health Clinic, run by healthyAbility at 41-43 Carrington Road, offers free, walk-in mental health information, advice, and referral services for adults. It is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, making it an accessible first stop for anyone who is unsure where to begin. Eastern Health also operates several services from the same Carrington Road address, including the Access Team (1300 721 927), the Central East Early Psychosis Team (9843 5800), and the Box Hill Community Team (9843 1200). For younger patients, Eastern Health provides an Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at 135 Thames Street.[4][6]
Dedicated Care for Young People Aged 12-25
For adolescents and young adults, the new headspace Centre for Box Hill is a free, holistic service delivered by Mind Australia. Located at Level 1, 19-23 Prospect Street, it offers mental health care alongside physical, sexual, and vocational health support. Young people can also access eheadspace, a 24/7 phone and web counselling service, by calling 1800 650 890.[2][13][14]
Counselling for Mild to Moderate Needs
The EACH Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub, found at Suite 2, 26-28 Prospect Street, provides counselling for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems, substance use issues, or family violence. The service is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and walk-ins are welcome.[3][5][9]
Meanwhile, the Koonung Community Mental Health Clinic on the first floor of 43 Carrington Road accepts new referrals through the triage line at 1300 721 927 and operates 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.[5][10]
