How we reported this
The Camberwell Fashion Markets open next weekend with general admission priced from £18 to £45 depending on the day and venue.
Rising material costs and limited stock from overseas suppliers have pushed more local buyers toward these neighbourhood events rather than larger city-centre fairs. Organisers say the July dates coincide with the release of new collections from designers who source fabric within 50 miles of the borough.
Venues and What Is On Offer
Sessions run at the Grove Lane Market Hall, a converted 1930s warehouse on Grove Lane, and at the Burgess Park Fashion Tent, erected on the south side of the park near Albany Road. The Hall hosts 28 stalls specialising in ready-to-wear and accessories, while the tent focuses on emerging labels with live tailoring demonstrations each afternoon.
Both sites operate from 10am to 6pm on 18 and 19 July. Advance tickets are required for the tent; the Hall accepts walk-ups until capacity.
Prices, Transport and Practical Steps
Single-day entry at the Hall costs £18 before 2pm and £25 after. Full-weekend passes for the tent are £45. Last year the combined events recorded 4,200 visitors across two days, with average spend per person listed at £67 on garments and refreshments.
Visitors should arrive via Denmark Hill station, a six-minute walk to the Hall and ten minutes to the tent entrance. Cycle racks are available at both locations and the nearest Santander Cycles docking station sits on Camberwell Road. Cashless payment is mandatory at all stalls; card readers accept contactless only.
Queues form quickly after 11am, so organisers recommend buying timed tickets online before 10 July to secure a slot. Bring a reusable bag, as single-use plastic carriers are banned inside both sites.
