Box Hill Infrastructure Projects Advance with Funding and Contract Awards
Recent allocations and tenders mark progress on roads, reserves and community facilities.
How we reported this

The Hills Shire Council has welcomed $11.7 million in NSW Government funding for three infrastructure projects in Box Hill. The allocation covers Water Lane Road construction, land acquisition for a new fire station and planning for the Terry Road Upgrade.
This support arrives as the area works through a documented infrastructure shortfall. The funding targets specific road and emergency service needs identified by the council.
Funding Breakdown and Additional Allocations
The $11.7 million breaks down into $5.6 million for Water Lane Road construction, $3.5 million for land acquisition for a new fire station and $2.6 million for Terry Road Upgrade planning. Separately, the council secured $30.4 million under the NSW Accelerated Infrastructure Fund. Within that amount, $6.99 million is directed to the Annangrove Road upgrade and $9.79 million to The Water Lane Reserve.
These amounts add to earlier commitments and focus on immediate construction and planning tasks rather than long-term studies alone.
Contracts Awarded for Three Projects
The Hills Shire Council has awarded contracts for Anthony Skarratt Reserve Stage One, the Edwards Road and Annangrove Road four-way roundabout, and the Terry Road culvert crossing. Each contract addresses a distinct element of local road and open-space infrastructure.
Work under these contracts will proceed according to the terms set by the council, with delivery timelines managed through standard tender processes.
Scale of Remaining Infrastructure Requirements
Box Hill faces a $207 million infrastructure shortfall. Meeting the full list of needs would require delivery of 16 sports fields, 7 parks, 13km of roads and 14 traffic signals.
The recent funding and contract awards represent partial steps toward closing that gap, though the overall requirement remains substantial.
Further updates on project timelines and additional funding rounds are expected from the council as work continues.
