How we reported this
The Hills Shire Council has shared updates on infrastructure in the Box Hill Release Area covering Annangrove Road and the Water Lane Reserve Sports Complex.
Annangrove Road Upgrade
Annangrove Road is set for conversion from a rural road to a four-lane sub-arterial road featuring a central median and two lanes in each direction. The work targets reduced traffic congestion, improved motorist safety, better travel times, and new provisions for pedestrians and cyclists to serve Box Hill, Rouse Hill and surrounding areas.
Water Lane Reserve Sports Complex
Construction has started at the Water Lane Reserve Sports Complex. Once finished the site will provide two AFL fields, a natural turf athletics field and track, amenities buildings, an internal car park, a local playground, picnic facilities, concrete pathways and specialist sports field lighting. The facility will host AFL as the winter sport and athletics as the summer sport while also supporting informal community use. The Hills Shire Council received grant funding from the NSW Government's Accelerated Infrastructure Fund toward the project.
Both updates appear under the council's Latest Information section for the Box Hill Release Area. The council notes that all mapping and timelines remain indicative only.
Residents can view the full details and an interactive storymap on the council website to follow progress on these projects.
