Northern Study Hub Opens Amid Broadmeadows Education Updates

The Northern Study Hub, Victoria's first Suburban University Study Hub, officially opened in Broadmeadows at the Hume City Council Offices, providing support services and study facilities for local university and VET students.

School Programs and Enrolments

Broadmeadows Primary School enrolled 259 students in 2024 and offers specialist subjects including STEM, Visual Arts, and Spanish, alongside support programs for speech therapy and social work. The school district in Broadmeadows has seen significant educational regeneration, with literacy results increasing by 15% by 2010 and students now meeting expected literacy and numeracy standards after previously being rated last in the state. StartNorth is the first innovation hub and co-working space in Broadmeadows, providing training and space for local start-ups and scale-ups in Melbourne’s north. A feasibility study is being developed for an assistive technology hub focused on enhancing the advanced manufacturing sector in Melbourne’s north. The Hume Tech School, a state-of-the-art STEM innovation centre, is under construction at the Bendigo Kangan Institute Broadmeadows campus and is set to complete in Term 3, 2026.
