Broadmeadows Gets $14.3M Revamp: Council and Government Plan Next Steps

Hume City Council is working with the Victorian Government on Project Broadmeadows to develop a long-term plan for the city centre that includes new homes, services and transport upgrades. The Victorian Government has announced a $14.3 million investment package to support this effort, with Broadmeadows named a priority suburb for revitalisation.

Funding Allocations

The package directs $7 million toward refurbishing the Broadmeadows Town Hall into a jobs and community hub. Another $4 million will upgrade Broadmeadows Railway Station, adding a new northern entrance, concourse, toilets and a partial pedestrian subway upgrade. Further amounts cover $1 million for a new boulevard along Pascoe Vale Road featuring street trees and improved crossings, plus $2.1 million to complete the 3.2km Meadowlink shared path.

Broadmeadows is identified as a priority suburb for revitalisation by the Victorian Government, with major projects including the $60 million redevelopment of the Broadmeadows Kangan Institute and Civic Plaza Activation. These elements sit alongside the core $14.3 million package and form part of the broader collaboration between Hume City Council and the state.
