Frankston Council Launches Tech Support, Youth Planning, Employment Programs
Council programs on tech support, youth planning and employment pathways continue across local venues.
How we reported this
Frankston City Council ran its latest free tech help session for seniors at Karingal Hub on 330 Cranbourne Rd earlier this month, with the scheduled date listed as Thursday 4 June 2026 from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Consultation on Youth Plan Closes
The Draft Youth Action Plan 2027-2031 consultation remained open for residents aged 12-24 until the end of May, allowing input on future council priorities before the 31 May 2026 deadline. A separate Community Satisfaction Survey for 2026 also began, with door-to-door interviews planned for 800 residents across the municipality over a six-week period.
Employment and Enterprise Programs
The Work Ready Program continued to deliver placements, with the council having invested $250,000 in the 2023-24 period and recording 45 placements during 2024-25. The Frankston Social Enterprise Hub at Chisholm Institute TAFE on Fletcher Road offers one-on-one AI for business sessions and free coworking space for local social entrepreneurs. The council’s mobile food van program, first launched in 2023, saw new licence expressions of interest open on 20 October 2025 for sites including Oliver’s Hill Boat Ramp and Ballam Park, with successful licences starting 1 June 2026.
These activities build on established local efforts such as the Frankston Foundry co-working space and the Libraries After Dark workshops at Carrum Downs Library that run on Thursday nights without booking. The Frankston Business Collective also scheduled networking events at Netfocus IT in Frankston running from 18 September to 10 October.
Residents seeking to participate in remaining council-supported activities can check the Frankston City Council website for current session details at Karingal Hub or contact the Social Enterprise Hub directly at its Fletcher Road location.
