Coburg Medicare Urgent Care Clinic Opens, New Health Precinct on Track for 2025 Delivery

Coburg residents now have access to a new Medicare Urgent Care Clinic at 444 Sydney Road, which opened on March 21, 2026. The clinic offers bulk-billed, walk-in urgent care without an appointment, operating seven days a week from 8 am to 10 pm. It serves the Coburg and Brunswick areas and is designed to ease pressure on Royal Melbourne Hospital. The clinic joins a network of 28 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics across Victoria, part of the Albanese Government's national expansion commitment according to the Prime Minister's office.

Coburg Health and Community Services Precinct

Alongside the new clinic, the Coburg Health and Community Services Precinct is scheduled for delivery by 2025. Located on a 14,500 square metre site at Bell Street and Pentridge Boulevard, the precinct is expected to create up to 1,000 local jobs. It will include aged care, mental health services, and a short-stay hospital. Over half of the services in the precinct will be delivered by community and not-for-profit providers on long-term leases, with $160 million in direct investment and a projected $300 million economic benefit to the Merri-bek area according to the Merri-bek City Council.
