Collingwood Official Plan Adoption and Ongoing Climate, Recreation Consultations Set Path for Local Services

Collingwood Council adopted its new Official Plan on December 11, 2023, replacing the 2004 version after more than three years of community and stakeholder consultation. Collingwood and The Blue Mountains have launched a Joint Multi-Use Recreation Feasibility Assessment. The consulting team has prepared a community consultation plan to examine future recreation needs. Residents who take part can provide views on facilities that support local activities such as sports, gatherings and outdoor use. The assessment process is designed to produce findings that inform shared decisions on recreation infrastructure serving both communities.

These consultation steps follow the pattern established with the Official Plan, where sustained public input preceded formal adoption. Residents can expect the climate survey results and recreation assessment outcomes to inform subsequent council actions on services and facilities.
