Casey Council Seeks Feedback on $40.3M Cranbourne Hub Design
Cranbourne residents can submit comments on the $40.3 million hub at 1-3 Lyall Street, land rezoning at Cyril Beechey Lane and Bernborough Avenue Reserve upgrades before the listed deadlines.
How we reported this

Casey Council is seeking community feedback on the concept design for the proposed $40.3 million Cranbourne Hub at 1-3 Lyall Street. Consultation on the hub closes on 16 March 2026, and the facility is expected to open in 2029. Peninsula Community Legal Centre and Community Information and Support Cranbourne have been selected as preferred partners to co-design and operate from the new hub.
Residents can also comment on Planning Scheme Amendment C300case, which proposes to rezone farming land at Cyril Beechey Lane near the Cranbourne town centre for residential development. Submissions on this amendment remain open until 15 January 2026. Separate feedback is invited from Cranbourne West residents on plans to refresh Bernborough Avenue Reserve, including changes to the shade sail and playspace layout, with that consultation closing on 10 March 2026.
Proposed Cranbourne Hub and service access
The hub project directly involves the placement of legal and community support services at a single site. Residents who use or may use Peninsula Community Legal Centre or Community Information and Support Cranbourne services would have the opportunity to contribute to the co-design process during the current consultation period. The location at 1-3 Lyall Street places the facility within the existing town centre area, which could affect travel patterns for people seeking those services once the hub opens.
A proposed $250 million Hindu temple precinct in Cranbourne South remains subject to a pending Federal Government decision under national environmental law. Public consultation under the EPBC Act for that project closed on 19 December 2025, leaving the outcome to be determined by federal authorities.
Rezoning and reserve plans
The rezoning proposal at Cyril Beechey Lane would change the status of farming land adjacent to the town centre. Any resulting residential development would occur in proximity to existing local services and transport routes. Feedback submitted before 15 January 2026 can address how such a change might integrate with current land use in that area.
Plans for Bernborough Avenue Reserve focus on updates to existing recreation facilities. Cranbourne West residents who use the reserve for play or shade can provide input on the proposed layout changes before the 10 March 2026 deadline. These three active consultation processes allow residents to address specific local sites and services through the listed channels.
Further details on each consultation are available through Casey Council channels. The next steps depend on the volume and content of submissions received by the respective closing dates.
