Heidelberg Council Locks in Road Material Rates for Infrastructure Maintenance

Road and Winter Supply Contracts
Council awarded a contract for pre-mixed bituminous stockpile material at 116 dollars per ton. This supply is used for patching potholes and resurfacing sections of roads that residents travel each day. A separate contract for crushed stone and anti-skid material was set at 10 dollars 80 cents per ton plus 3 dollars 80 cents delivery per ton. These materials help with drainage and surface stabilisation during wet periods.
Further approvals covered pavement millings at 2 dollars 10 cents per square yard for reuse in road bases and petroleum products at 2 dollars 36 cents per gallon for regular petrol and 3 dollars 21 cents per gallon for diesel. The fuel rates apply to council vehicles that carry out inspections and minor repairs. Snow and rock salt contracts were fixed at 79 dollars 90 cents per ton before July and 80 dollars 80 cents per ton after October. These supplies support treatment of roads during colder months when frost can form.
