Point Cook City Council Approves Phased Infrastructure Maintenance Plan Starting October 2026, Shifting Local Road Repair Schedules

Point Cook City Council passed a measure on July 8 that sets a staggered schedule for infrastructure maintenance across municipal roads and parks. The plan divides work into three phases running through March 2028 and applies to all properties within city limits.

The vote followed the release of updated condition reports on 42 local streets compiled earlier this year. Council members directed staff to align spending with available funds in the current capital works allocation rather than delay projects until the next fiscal cycle.

Phased Schedule Details

Under the adopted timeline, Phase One begins in October 2026 and covers 12 streets in the western and central wards. Crews will focus on resurfacing and drainage repairs on those routes first. Residents on affected blocks will receive notice 30 days before work starts, with temporary detours posted on city signage.

Phase Two starts in April 2027 and targets parks maintenance plus an additional 18 streets. Phase Three, scheduled for late 2027 into early 2028, addresses remaining priority segments. The council agenda packet lists the full sequence by ward and estimated duration for each segment.
