Hume City Council Adopts Final Local Area Traffic Management Plan for Roxburgh Park East

On 23 June 2025 Hume City Council adopted the Final Local Area Traffic Management Plan for Roxburgh Park east. The decision approves a set of traffic treatments for the defined precinct after consideration of 180 community responses received during the study process.

Roxburgh Park lies within the City of Hume local government area and recorded a population of 24,129 in the 2021 census. Precinct 9 covers Meadow Heights, southern Roxburgh Park and Coolaroo. The precinct was developed in the 1990s on land previously used for agriculture by the Urban and Regional Land Corporation. The LATM study area is bounded by Patullos Lane, Donald Cameron Drive, Roxburgh Park Drive, Somerton Road and the Craigieburn Railway Line.

Scope of the adopted plan

The Final Local Area Traffic Management Plan identifies treatments intended to address local traffic conditions within these boundaries. Residents living along the named roads and within the precinct can expect the approved measures to be applied in the streets that form the study area. The plan directly follows from the community responses collected for this specific portion of Roxburgh Park.

Budget allocation and implementation

Implementation of the Roxburgh Park East LATM actions is proposed to be funded by up to $242,500 in the 2026/27 Council budget. Actions that fall outside this allocation are to be considered for future Capital Works funding rounds. The council has not set a further timetable beyond the budget year reference.

The adopted plan therefore provides a defined funding envelope for the initial round of treatments while leaving additional work subject to later budget decisions. Residents in the affected streets will see the first group of measures advanced once the 2026/27 budget is confirmed and procurement processes are completed.
