Berwick House Prices Jump 3.7% This Quarter, Outpacing Last Year's 2.4%
Second-quarter figures released this week show stronger house price rises across Berwick than recorded in the same months of 2025.
How we reported this

Property prices in Berwick posted a 3.7 percent rise in the three months to June 2026, compared with 2.4 percent growth in the equivalent quarter last year, according to data compiled by the Berwick Property Partners agency.
The increase arrives as mortgage rates have held steady near 4.1 percent and local employment at the Port of Berwick has expanded by 120 jobs since January. Buyers and sellers now face clearer signals on timing deals before autumn listings arrive.
Activity on Marygate and Quay Walls
Three terrace homes on Marygate changed hands between April and June at an average of £289,000, up from £274,500 in the same stretch of 2025. Two flats overlooking Quay Walls sold within eight days of listing, both above asking price by £11,000 and £14,500 respectively.
The Berwick Development Trust completed its renovation of four former warehouse units on Palace Street in May, releasing them onto the market at prices between £265,000 and £310,000. All four attracted offers within the first fortnight.
Local estate agents recorded 47 transactions in the quarter, five more than the 42 logged between April and June 2025. Detached houses in the Ravensdowne neighbourhood accounted for 18 of those sales, with an average achieved price of £412,000.
Next Steps for Owners and Buyers
Homeowners planning to sell before winter should book valuations this month, as fresh stock typically appears after the school holidays. First-time buyers can check eligibility for the Berwick First Steps shared-equity scheme, which currently supports purchases up to £285,000.
Interest-rate watchers will monitor the Bank of England decision scheduled for 6 August, which could influence September mortgage offers in the town.
