Altona High School Expands Athletics Using Local Venues, New Coaches
The athletics site details state-level track success and coaching changes that rely on existing community infrastructure to run multiple varsity teams.
How we reported this
Altona high school athletes continue to use established local venues as the athletics program lists active squads across more than a dozen sports for the 2025-2026 year.
The timing aligns with the end of one season and preparations for summer contact opportunities, giving families a clear picture of how current facilities support training and competition without new builds announced.
Track Results and Coaching Updates
Rayna Raglin claimed state titles in both the 100m and 200m events, results posted directly on the athletics site and tied to the use of standard school and regional tracks already available in Altona. The same site announced Nic Bradshaw as the incoming head coach and confirmed Tabi Young in the head cheer coach role, moves that will direct existing squads toward the same venues used in prior years.
These appointments arrive alongside roster pages for varsity girls soccer, baseball, softball, boys volleyball, boys and girls track, boys tennis, boys and girls bowling, swimming, dance and wrestling, all of which draw on the same set of fields, pools and gym spaces already operating in the area.
Summer Access Through Current Infrastructure
The 2026 summer camp and IHSA contact days section on the site points athletes and families to camp details and registration that will again take place at the venues supporting the regular season. Ticket sales through the GoFan platform further streamline entry to events held at those same locations, removing the need for additional infrastructure to manage crowds.
Residents can check the full list of squads and camp information at altonathletics.org to plan participation around the facilities already in use.
