Collingwood Venues Fuel Local Sport Growth With Olympic Park Upgrades
Olympic Park upgrades and the coming Turbo Sports & Performance Centre give clubs reliable indoor and outdoor options even on a weekend without major festivals.
How we reported this
Collingwood Football Club now operates from the KGM Centre at Olympic Park after the November 2025 rebrand tied to its partnership with Korean automotive manufacturer KGM.
The absence of large public events this weekend leaves local teams focused on regular training rather than festival tie-ins. The Collingwood Music Festival concludes July 18, and the Side Launch Days Festival remains scheduled for August, so clubs rely on fixed facilities for preparation.
Olympic Park and Westpac Centre upgrades
The $7 million provincial investment targets a new running track, health and fitness centre and public amenities at Olympic Park directly linked to the Collingwood Football Club precinct. The Westpac Centre redevelopment, described as nearly complete, adds hydrotherapy pools, a 50-metre indoor running track, an altitude training room and a split-level swimming pool for year-round athlete use.
These improvements sit within established Collingwood precincts already used by the football club and community programs. The KGM Centre name now marks the headquarters on site, replacing the previous Olympic Park designation for official purposes.
Winter opening for new indoor turf site
The Turbo Sports & Performance Centre is slated to open in Winter 2026 with an indoor turf field and high-performance gym built specifically for the local sports community. Until then, clubs continue to schedule sessions around existing tracks, pools and gym spaces at the Westpac Centre and Olympic Park.
EventsIncollingwood.ca remains the community calendar residents check for any last-minute venue bookings or small-scale matches that may appear outside the major festival window. The next larger community gathering listed after mid-July is the Side Launch Days Festival set for August 8-10.
Teams and individual athletes can monitor the same calendar for updates on facility access times while the new turf centre construction proceeds toward its winter opening date.
