Craigieburn Schools Drive Youth Sport Participation Through Regular Competitions
Craigieburn Secondary College teams and Craigieburn Little Athletics Centre programs form the core of local youth participation through regular interschool and seasonal competitions.
How we reported this

Craigieburn Secondary College fields teams in volleyball, basketball, soccer and divisional athletics that compete in events such as the Northern Regional Soccer and Athletics competitions.
These programs operate alongside the school's annual Athletics Carnival held in Term 2 and its Swimming Carnival staged each February, routes that feed selected students into broader divisional and regional events. The four sports houses named Aitken, Ridley, Bridgewater and Hume run inter-house contests in athletics, swimming and cross country that sit inside the regular physical education timetable.
Club Seasons and Shared Venues
Craigieburn Little Athletics Centre conducts a Winter Cross Country Season from April to August and a Summer Track and Field Season from September to March, with weekly Saturday competitions and Friday Twilight events. Its home base at the Sprint Athletics Centre provides free public track access during dawn-to-dusk hours, while Craigieburn Sports Stadium at 127 Craigieburn Road hosts basketball, netball and volleyball sessions used by the Craigieburn Eagles Basketball Association.
The stadium serves more than 1,600 players from local associations. Its $17.8 million Stage 1 upgrade, opened in February 2024, added three new multisport courts that brought the total to eight and created eighty extra parking spaces.
