East Doncaster Secondary College, which runs a comprehensive sport program including inter-school athletics carnivals, has seen its students achieve state titles and receive Victorian Schools Sports Awards 'Sporting Blues' honors for their athletic achievements. The school's senior athletes have been particularly strong this season, with a number of competitors now eyeing selection for divisional championships.

Doncaster Secondary College, affiliated with School Sport Victoria, competes in the Eastern Zone across athletics, soccer, basketball, and swimming events. The school's athletics squad has been training at the Tom Kelly Athletics Track, which also hosts house athletics carnivals for nearby schools such as Eltham High School and Bev Hills Primary School. The facility features dedicated spaces for hurdles, javelin, high jump, and long jump events.

Club pathway supports promising talent

The Doncaster Athletic Club, which is based at the Tom Kelly Athletics Track, provides coaching and exclusive track access for athletes aged 14 and older. The club competes in Athletics Victoria competitions and has helped develop several state-level performers. The track is available for school hire during weekday training hours from 8:00am to 3:30pm, allowing both primary and secondary schools to prepare for carnivals.

School Sport Victoria organises district-level competitions for upper primary and secondary students in Doncaster, including athletics, with a clear pathway to divisional and state carnivals.
