Bundoora Homestead Art Centre Opens Three New Exhibitions and Heritage Tour

The City of Darebin is running a guided history tour today at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre to explore the site’s past. The 1900 Queen Anne-style Federation mansion at 7 Prospect Hill Drive serves as the public art gallery for the municipality and stands on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung lands.

The tour arrives as three exhibitions open or continue at the centre. Requiem in Power and Around Here both become accessible from 11am on 15 July, while Post-extinction huia soundings follows on 17 July. All remain free to enter, consistent with the gallery’s standard policy for contemporary visual arts displays, artist talks and workshops.

Heritage Setting and Daily Access

The building itself carries registration from Heritage Victoria and certification from the National Trust. Inside visitors find a community library, makers space, gallery shop and café set among the gardens. These amenities sit alongside the exhibition rooms in the Federation mansion that has hosted the biennial Darebin Art Prize in past cycles.

Operating hours limit visits to Wednesday through Friday from 11am to 4pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. The centre stays closed on Tuesdays, Sundays and Mondays, so planners need to align any trip with those windows.
