Your bedroom is fighting against you: how temperature, light and noise are wrecking Clayton's sleep

Monash University's School of Psychological Sciences, based on Wellington Road, has also made its SleepSmart self-assessment tool publicly available through the university's health portal since March 2026. It takes around 12 minutes to complete and generates a personalised report flagging which of the three environmental factors is most likely disrupting your specific sleep profile based on your address, housing type and self-reported waking patterns.
The practical threshold for action is lower than most Clayton residents assume. A $29 curtain panel, a $12 white noise app subscription, and setting the air conditioning to 19 degrees before bed costs less than a single GP visit, and for many people, those three changes alone produce measurable improvements in sleep continuity within two weeks.
