Staff can book free initial consultations through the Collingwood Community Health Centre on Johnston Street, which added three new counsellors in April. The centre runs weekly group sessions on Tuesday evenings focused on boundary-setting techniques for shift workers. A second option sits inside the Collingwood Recreation Centre on Langridge Street, where the council funds a 12-week stress toolkit course priced at $35 per participant. Both locations accept self-referrals without a doctor’s note under the new workplace rights framework.
Collingwood’s Chamber of Commerce confirmed on 2 July that member firms must display the updated rights poster in break rooms by 31 August or face fines starting at $250. The poster outlines rights to request flexible hours for therapy appointments and protection from retaliation for using those hours.

A 2025 Collingwood workforce survey of 1,200 residents found 62 percent experienced weekly stress symptoms linked to job demands, with the highest rates among retail and logistics employees. The same data set showed only 29 percent knew they could request mental health leave without using annual leave balances.
