Craigieburn Sleep Clinics Open Expanded Study Slots This Month
Craigieburn residents can book overnight studies at two neighborhood facilities that opened expanded slots this month.
How we reported this

Craigieburn Sleep Centre on Hanson Road recorded 48 new bookings for overnight polysomnography in the first week of July alone.
July demand rose after the long winter nights returned and local wellness groups reported more residents tracking irregular sleep through phone apps. The centre added two extra technicians and extended its Tuesday and Thursday slots to meet the surge.
Clinic options on Hanson Road and Aitken Boulevard
The Craigieburn Sleep Centre sits inside the medical precinct at 150 Hanson Road and runs studies from 8 pm to 6 am. Patients receive a private room, sensors for breathing and heart rate, and a morning review with a technician. A second site, the Northern Sleep Institute at 45 Aitken Boulevard, opened its Craigieburn branch in March 2025 and offers the same overnight tests plus daytime multiple sleep latency tests for shift workers who live near the Craigieburn train station.
Both locations accept referrals from local GPs at the Craigieburn Medical Centre on Craigieburn Road East. The institute also runs a monthly information session at the Craigieburn Library on Hothlyn Drive where staff explain what sensors are used and how results reach the referring doctor within five business days.
Study costs and booking timeline
An overnight study at the Hanson Road centre costs $475 when referred through Medicare, while the Aitken Boulevard site charges $490 for the same service. Same-week appointments remain available for the rest of July at both addresses. Patients are advised to arrive with a list of current medications and to avoid caffeine after 2 pm on the day of the test.
Anyone wanting to book should call the Craigieburn Sleep Centre on 9308 1122 or visit the Northern Sleep Institute website and select the Craigieburn branch. Results are forwarded directly to the patient’s GP, who then discusses treatment options such as CPAP machines available at the same two sites.
