Glen Waverley Hosts Multiple Fun Runs and Charity Walks Next Two Months
Glen Waverley residents can sign up now for a series of group runs and walks scheduled through the next two months.
How we reported this

Three community fitness events open for registration this month in Glen Waverley, with the first charity walk set for 18 July.
Longer daylight hours and cooler morning temperatures have drawn more residents outdoors for group activities since the start of winter. Organisers report steady sign-ups for events that combine exercise with fundraising for local causes, including support for the Glen Waverley Neighbourhood House programs.
Events at specific Glen Waverley sites
The Glen Waverley Rotary Club will host a 5-kilometre charity walk beginning at the Kingsway shopping strip on 18 July at 8am, with proceeds directed to youth mental health services. Participants will follow a route along High Street Road before finishing at the Glen Waverley Community Centre. A separate 3-kilometre fun run organised by the Waverley Park Fitness Group starts at 7am on 25 July from the car park at Jells Park, with all entry fees supporting equipment upgrades at the nearby Glen Waverley Primary School oval.
Numbers and costs
Entry for the Rotary walk costs $18 for adults and $10 for children, while the Jells Park fun run charges $22 per participant. Last year the same Rotary event recorded 312 finishers, according to club records. Organisers expect similar or higher numbers this time given the addition of a post-event breakfast at the Community Centre.
Residents can register online through the Glen Waverley Neighbourhood House website or in person at the centre on Springvale Road before 15 July for the first event. Those new to group exercise should arrive 15 minutes early for a short safety briefing and should wear a visible name tag provided at check-in.
