Kensington Sleep Clinics Expand Overnight Monitoring Capacity This Summer
Kensington facilities have increased capacity for overnight monitoring and daytime assessments this summer.
How we reported this
Kensington Sleep Assessment Centre on High Street recorded 142 overnight studies in June, up from 98 the same month last year.
Longer daylight hours and disrupted routines after the school term have prompted more residents to seek evaluations for fragmented rest. The borough’s public health team noted a 19 percent rise in GP referrals for sleep concerns between April and June 2026.
Clinics and programs operating in the area
Two established sites handle most local referrals. The Kensington Sleep Assessment Centre at 112 Kensington High Street runs weekday and weekend slots with home-based kits and in-lab beds. The Holland Park Sleep Programme, based inside the Holland Park Medical Centre on Abbotsbury Road, offers split-night studies and follow-up cognitive behavioural sessions for residents in W8 and W14 postcodes.
Both locations accept self-referrals and NHS pathways. Appointments at the High Street site currently carry a six-week wait for non-urgent cases, while the Abbotsbury Road programme maintains a shorter list for patients already under a local GP.
Costs, timelines and next steps
A standard overnight study at the Kensington Sleep Assessment Centre costs £485 when paid privately, with results issued within five working days. The Holland Park programme charges £420 for the same service and includes a 30-minute review with a sleep physiologist. Residents can book through either clinic’s online portal or by calling the central borough referral line, which opened new slots on 6 July.
Anyone considering a study should first discuss symptoms with their GP to determine whether a home kit or full lab night is appropriate. The two Kensington sites publish current availability each Monday on their websites.
