Point Cook Opens New Swimming Classes for All Ages This Winter
Point Cook pools have added new group classes and family sessions that run through winter at fixed locations on the west side.
How we reported this

Point Cook Aquatic Centre recorded 1,240 enrollments for its July swim blocks by the first week of the month, up from 940 the prior winter.
The increase tracks directly with the opening of two new indoor lanes at the site on Boardwalk Boulevard and the start of evening family slots at the Featherbrook Recreation Hub on Williams Landing Road. Residents in the Sanctuary Lakes and Featherbrook neighbourhoods have driven most of the new sign-ups, according to centre logs.
Programs that fit different ages and schedules
Both venues now run parent-and-toddler classes on weekday mornings, school-age stroke clinics after 3:30 pm, and adult aqua circuits at 6 pm. The Point Cook Aquatic Centre added a Saturday 8 am masters lane for swimmers aged 35 and over, while the Featherbrook site offers a low-impact arthritis class on Tuesdays at 10 am using the therapy pool. These additions replaced earlier single-age formats that left gaps for mixed households.
Wyndham City Council data for the 2025 calendar year showed 5,180 unique Point Cook residents attended at least one aquatic fitness session across its two main sites. Average attendance per class rose from 18 to 24 people after the centres introduced online booking and a $12 single-session rate for adults with a $40 monthly family pass option.
How to join or adjust an existing routine
Residents can register for remaining July spots through the Wyndham Leisure portal or at the front desk before 7 pm on weekdays. The Point Cook Aquatic Centre opens at 6 am daily, and the Featherbrook hub starts at 6:30 am, giving commuters on Dunnings Road and Boardwalk Boulevard an early option before work. Anyone new to group water exercise is advised to arrive 15 minutes early for a poolside assessment of lane speed and depth.
