Point Cook Hosts Three Charity Runs and Fitness Events This Summer
Point Cook locals can sign up now for three group fitness events scheduled across July and August.
How we reported this

Three community fitness events open for registration in Point Cook this month, with the first starting at 8am on 18 July at the Point Cook Recreation Reserve.
Residents have shown steady interest in group exercise since the start of the year, when the Point Cook Community Centre recorded 1,200 visits to its weekly walking programs. The timing aligns with school holidays and longer daylight hours, giving families and shift workers more options to join organised runs and walks without needing gym memberships.
Events set on local streets and reserves
The Point Cook Runners Club will host a 5km fun run along Boardwalk Boulevard and back through the coastal path on 18 July, with a $15 entry fee that includes a timing chip. A separate charity walk organised by the Sanctuary Lakes Residents Association starts at 9am on 27 July from Featherbrook Reserve, raising funds for local youth sports equipment. Both events use marked routes on Sneydes Road and nearby shared paths to keep participants off main traffic lanes.
Last year the same July fun run drew 380 finishers, according to club records posted on its site. Organisers expect similar numbers this time, with early-bird pricing ending 12 July. The walk on 27 July caps at 200 participants to manage crowd size on the reserve paths.
Next steps for sign-ups
Registration for the 18 July run closes at 5pm on 17 July through the club website. The charity walk accepts entries until 25 July via the residents association form at the Point Cook Library branch. People new to group events can start with the free 6pm Tuesday meet-ups at the recreation reserve to test the routes before committing to a paid race.
